Nando Brown is the co-founder of the School of Canine Science and one of the most distinctive voices in modern dog training education.
His background is anything but typical. Before building one of the UK's leading online canine education platforms, Nando served in the Royal Marines and competed in semi-professional MMA, going 8 wins from 9 fights. That foundation — discipline, precision, and a clear-eyed approach to performance — runs through everything he teaches.
Nando holds a Principles of Dog Training and Behaviour qualification and is a certified Mondioring decoy who competed at the highest levels of the sport before stepping back to focus on education. He has trained and lived alongside working and high-drive breeds for years, with his own dogs including Belgian Malinois, a Springer Spaniel, a Russian Toy, Cane Corso, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Pitbull Terrier, and Doberman — giving him practical, hands-on experience across the full spectrum of canine behaviour and temperament.
He co-founded SoCS alongside Dean Nicholas with a straightforward mission: give dog trainers and behaviourists access to world-class, science-backed education in a format that actually fits professional life. That means rigorous content, no filler, and courses built by people who work with dogs at a serious level.
As lead educator, Nando teaches across multiple SoCS programmes including the flagship Behaviour Bible, a three-year professional behaviourist course, and the High Performers Membership, designed for trainers ready to raise the standard of both their practice and their business.
Beyond education, Nando is the author of two books on dog training and behaviour, has appeared on national television as the canine expert on Channel 4's Rescue Dog to Super Dog and ITV's Teach My Pet to Do That, and is a regular presenter on Good Morning Spain. His work sits at the intersection of science, performance, and practical application — whether he is working with a street dog, building curriculum, or talking to an international audience.

Dean Nicholas is co-founder of the School of Canine Science and a leading talent in the application of behavioural science to practical dog training.
His work is defined by a relentless focus on clean, accurate training mechanics. Dean teaches trainers to view behaviour through a precise operant conditioning lens, emphasising the importance of timing, clarity, and consequence in shaping reliable outcomes. Rather than relying on vague concepts or trend-driven methods, his approach centres on the exact application of learning principles to produce consistent, measurable results.
Dean is particularly known for his ability to break down complex behaviours into actionable training strategies. His specialist areas include trick training, canine obedience, canine cognition, canine neuroscience, the behavioural implications of neutering, and the finer details of operant conditioning.
Alongside his work in dog training, Dean brings over 16 years of experience working at the highest levels of international business. He has supported struggling organisations in identifying critical points of failure, as well as helping high-performing companies scale effectively. This background underpins his structured, results-driven approach — combining analytical thinking with practical execution, in both business and dog training.
